Earlier this month, Jake had a business trip to his company’s office in Brooklyn. They were so gracious and paid for my ticket to go along with him! It was a wonderful trip. He had to work most of the time, but it was still good to be away with him, and I had a lot of alone time, which is something I didn’t know I had been desperately needing-but I did, and it was good. And, I could walk EVERYWHERE in Brooklyn, so I didn’t have to even think about not being able to drive, which was wonderful. I walked thousands of steps, every day. I love being in places where you can walk to everything you need.
It was great to meet some of Jake’s colleagues, who he talks about so much I feel like I already know them, but had never met in person. We had SO MUCH excellent food. I did a lot of shopping and a lot of wandering. I spent almost two hours one day, laying under a tree at Fort Knox Park. One day was a bit rainy, but that didn’t stop me from going to explore the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO.
Meanwhile, while we were in Brooklyn, the kiddos had a blast with Grammy and Pappy. Casey and Emery took care of the kitties for us.
I love that my family is willing to do things for us to enable to take much needed trips together!
