This was our first week back at school, and it was a bit of a doozy. We were all ready for the rest of the weekend today!
We dropped off Jake at the airport on Sunday for a week long work trip to San Diego. We missed him terribly, but he had a good trip.
Work this week, for me, was a little stressful and had me wondering at the end of the week if we had only been on Christmas break a week ago! But God is teaching me some things this school year, and I’m trying hard to listen to what He is saying, even when it is hard.
Like I said, the kids and I missed Jake terribly…life is just not the same without him with us! But we tried to make the best of it, and kept busy. Monday night we ate a delicious dinner with Mama Judy, like normal.
Tuesday Josie finished her printmaking piece that she is going to enter in the TACS art competition this year. Mrs. Shumate is an amazing teacher :), and Jo did a great job!
Tuesday night we went to Shshr and Nana’s after Jo’s art lesson to eat tacos (made by Nana), and to meet Shshr’s new dog, Asher. Mom and Dad joined us for dinner, too. It was great to see everyone, and Asher was very cute :). The kids were thrilled, of course.
Wednesday night, after Josie’s ballet class, we went to Chic Fil A with my friend Lindsey and her kiddos, since her hubby was out of town as well. It was a fun night of hanging out with friends, and I didn’t take one picture . 🙂
Thursday after school we went to Mom and Dad’s so I could use the treadmill, and Mom cooked us some yummy dinner.
Friday afternoon we hung out at school so I could catch up on some work, and the kiddos watched some movies until time to go get Jake at the airport. We stopped to get a hot drink on the way to kill some time.
I love these two goobers.
We were all SO glad to see Jake, and we’ve spent today being extremely lazy, resting for our crazy week and just enjoying being all back under one roof.
I added up my miles today run so far this year….only 488 left to go! ? We’ll see!
