The garden is growing!
We kicked off summer, as usual, with a camping trip to Dale Hollow Dam. It was a lovely with a whole lot of not doing anything, reading, biking, fishing, eating yummy food, and watching movies. We had an added bonus this year, too, in our good friends getting to come spend a night with us! The kids were SO excited to get to have a “sleepover” with their friends in the camper. 🙂
Jack went fishing with Wyatt at the creek
Jake and our friend Josh went fishing at the river. Jake caught SIX different types of fish!
Including this HUGE skipjack.
While they were fishing, Lindsey and I took the kiddos to the fish hatchery.
Before they left on Sunday, we went to the swinging bridge island at the lake to go swimming.
Monday morning was a lazy day, full of playing with cousins and fishing at the creek with Pappy. Both kiddos caught a trout on their first cast!
Monday afternoon was a bit rainy, but we took our boat to the lake with Grammy and Pappy, and it was SUCH a peaceful day on the lake- a great way to spend the afternoon before we headed down that evening.
Pappy caught some BIG fish.
We had our last full day of school today. Tomorrow is Final Assembly and a picnic, so this was really the last “teaching” day. And because I am always a sucker for a good comparison shot, here are the kiddos first day/last day pics.
Neither of our kiddos changed too terribly much this year! And, Josie gets two because I always take first/last day pics of the kids in my class, and since she’s in my class, well….
Another fun note: after tomorrow I can go back to just being Josie’s MOM, instead of her teacher, something we are both immensely looking foward to!
Those eyes, though.
Josie’s class in the ballet recital. She’s the one on the left in the back at the start. The shortest, of course. 🙂
Josie has been eagerly counting down the days until today- her ballet recital day! She has absolutely loved ballet classes this year, and we are so grateful for her wonderful teacher, and our school for allowing after school ballet classes to happen. She has learned SO much, and her teacher always brings all the focus back to our wonderful Creator who has gifted the girls with the ability to worship Him in dance. The recital was absolutely beautiful, and of course the girls were, too. 🙂 Here are some pictures of our little ballerina on her big day.
Josie with two of her very best friends. 🙂
She’s the one on the end…the shortest, of course.
Her big solo moment!
She had a fan club. 🙂
She loves, loves, loves, and adores her wonderful ballet teacher.
Happy recital day, baby girl.
