I am definitely an inconsistent blogger at best here lately! But that’s okay. Because this blog has always been a fun hobby…and if a hobby becomes work, it is no longer a hobby.
So here I am playing catch up again. 🙂
It happened…..we knew it would one day, and it finally DID- my friend Lindsey and I showed up to school one day in the exact same shirt…unplanned, of course. 🙂
Our school sent any of us that wanted to to an armed intruder self-defense seminar at a karate studio. It was INTENSE, and we all walked away with bruises, but all SO glad we did it. The seminar was great, and I always love a chance to get to spend time with these beautiful ladies!
My friend Jessi came to town with her family, so of course we had to see them! Their family and my friend Megan and her family all came over to our house for dinner. It was SO good to see all of them, and our kiddos had a blast playing. 🙂
Last Friday was Grandparent’s Day at our school. Josie always gets SOOO excited about Grandparent’s Day- it is her favorite day of the year! She loves to perform. 🙂 Her class got to play the recorders, too! Grammy, Pappy, Nana, and Mee-Maw all came to see the kiddos. 🙂
After Grandparent’s Day, Josie and Jack went home with Grammy and Pappy to spend the night, so Jake and I got a date night! We went to Demo’s to eat, and then to see Black Panther- it was SUCH a good movie. I’m not usually into super hero movies, but I loved this one-it had so many good messages. I want to see it again, just to look for things I know I missed.
And then a rare thing happened…we got ANOTHER date night in the same weekend! We have been trying to a double date with our friends Lindsey and Josh for forever, but it kept getting cancelled because of sick kiddos. So we finally made it happen on Saturday. We hired a babysitter to watch all the kiddos at their house, and then we headed out. We ate dinner at The Rosepepper, and then walked over to get ice cream at Jeni’s….we were all STUFFED by then end of the night. We had so much fun- I haven’t laughed that hard in awhile!
The weather this month has been crazy…. warm enough for shorts outside one day, and then we’ve had a couple of mornings where we’ve woken up to snow! (not enough to get us out of school, though). Monday morning’s snow made for a beautiful drive to school, though.
Jack has started spring soccer. They started last Tuesday. He has practice every Tuesday and Thursday, but last Thursday’s was cancelled because it was so cold. It was cold tonight, too….but kids don’t feel it as much as the adults. 🙂
He really loves soccer.
Here’s til next time! 🙂
