My kiddos have literally been counting down the days to this one! They were SOOO excited to see the eclipse. I was, too….but also slightly nervous about being in charge of a class full of kids during it, as well. Anyways, it turned out to be all okay. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and I have to say watching the eclipse was one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life. It was beautiful and amazing. The kids had a wonderful time, and it was so fun to get to show them and all the rest of the students the “shadow snakes” right before and after totality. Jake stayed home and watched the eclipse with his mom and Jennie, and he got an awesome picture of the eclipse in the shadows of the tree- our oak trees were acting as pinhole viewers!
Josie entered our eclipse themed lunch contest at school- she did a peanut butter round to be the sun, a Nutella round on top to be the moon, and then cut her strawberries into crescent shapes. 🙂 She was so proud of her creation.
She was absolutely enthralled and amazed the whole day- she loves, loves things like this.
Jack was pretty amazed, too!
My teaching buddy and I 🙂
This is Jake’s picture of the eclipse in shadows- so awesome!
It was a pretty amazing sight to behold.
