4th of July Festivities

We had a good 4th of July weekend around here.

The kids and I started celebrating last night by meeting some sweet church friends in Hendersonville to watch the big fireworks at the lake. The kids had never seen a big fireworks show (except for the one at the Sounds game), so this was a new experience for them, and they loved it! I think they loved getting to hang out with their friends even more, though! It was great night, and it only would have been better if Jake could have come (he had to work).

Mr. Bill was giving sparkler safety lessons. 🙂

These boys were VERY serious about this sparkler business- ha!

We are so blessed to have so many good friends at our church.

The fireworks were so beautiful over the lake!

Today was a great day, too. The kids I started off the day with our yearly tradition of going to the parade with Ta and Tommy. Mama Judy met us there with the cousins, too, and the kids were so thrilled to see each other! It was a hot day for a parade, but not unbearable. 🙂

After the parade we walked back to Ta’s and Jake met us there for lunch and a little bit of hang out time before we headed back home.

This afternoon Josie helped me make my annual red, white, and blue strawberries for the fish fry.

This evening we headed to the Johnson’s for our annual fish fry. It ended up raining on and off the whole night, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the food or the fun. The big hit of the night was the slip and slide, of course. I think every kid except the littlest babies took their turn (more like several!). It’s always good to see people we don’t get to see very much anymore. 🙂

Happy Birthday Shshr! Annual birthday picture with all the nieces and nephews…. minus Lane, because he is very anti-camera right now, lol. 🙂

Happy 4th, y’all!
