This was another great day. We got up and took our breakfast down to the fishing dock for one more visit before we left.
Then we packed up the tent and all our stuff and headed down to Beaufort-only about an hour and a half away.
We visited Walmart to stock up on some lunch and breakfast food, and then went to this AH-MAZING meat and three BBQ place called Sgt. White’s Diner.
Then we drove the rest of the way to Hunting Island State Park and got settled into our new campground. It was definitely set up like a state park, but our site was awesome, because it was so shaded by these big beautiful pine trees and palm trees.
After we got set up, we rode our bikes over to the beach! (SO grateful to have our bikes on this trip!) the state park has a couple of miles of beach that are only for campers, so it wasn’t too crowded and mostly just families-much better than Folly Beach, which was way more touristy and crowded. We spent several hours on the beach, playing in the waves and the sand-the kids absolutely loved it!
After we got done at the beach, we took MUCH needed showers and then got in the car to explore the park a bit. We found a really long fishing pier to walk out on.
Then we headed back to the campsite and ate sandwiches and chips for dinner. While we were eating dinner, two deer came almost all the way up to our table!! They were not scared of us at all. 🙂 Jack named them Banano and Camouflage.
After dinner, we rode our bikes over to the playground so the kids could play awhile, then hit the bed, because we were all exhausted. It was a long, but great day.
