Just got done eating lunch with my class outside. This is a crazy winter! Freezing one day and then like spring the next. And then they are calling for snow next week? So strange. Well, or just what you call a Tennessee winter. 🙂
Last weekend I took advantage of the super warm weather and did a mini photo shoot with Josie to commemorate her losing her top front teeth. 🙂 Since then, she has also lost one on the bottom! She really is going to be toothless if she doesn’t stop pulling them! So here are few toothless grins. 🙂
Saturday afternoon all us girls on Mom’s side of the family got together with Nana’s sister, Nan and all the girls in her family. We ate lunch at Mom’s and hung out and talked while the kids played forever. It was so good to catch up with all of them, and we’ve decided to make it a every couple of month tradition. Family are the best kind of friends. 🙂
Between us all, we had bookoodles of kids!
It is going to be Nan’s birthday soon, so we celebrated with a cake 🙂
I didn’t get pictures of everyone that was there, so I will have to do a better job next time! 🙂
Well, Saturday we finally got some snow! It started Friday night, and it was a beautiful snow. Jake and I got an unexpected date night Friday night, thanks to Ta and Tommy (thanks, y’all!). We went to to Torino’s in Springfield-yum! The kids were so excited to see the snow when we picked them up, and then Saturday morning it was still there! I knew it wouldn’t be there for long, though, so I sent them out to play as soon as they woke up. (And warned them that it would be melted by lunch time!) They played for a good long while and go their fill :).
I love it when it sticks to all the trees!
The sun was so gorgeous coming up over the barn with the fog!
My toothless snow angel. 🙂
Josie built this snowman (more like a snowman head, really), and wanted to take a picture of it with my phone. 🙂 So I let her!
Hopefully this won’t be our last snow of the season!
So, Josie and Jake were discussing her lack of teeth, and Jake told Josie that her missing teeth made her look like a wolf, or maybe a vampire bat (and if you know Josie, you know that this is actually a compliment). So, then Jack piped up- “There are walking vampirates!”
This weekend was so full, and so fun. Dinner with friends on Friday, and then the rest of the weekend was BEAUTIFUL weather-I mean, seriously, 60 degrees in January? So we took full advantage on Saturday. I took Josie and Jack to a birthday party, and then we spent the rest of the day outside, working in the barn at our house, and then went to the greenway. Sunday we went to lunch with Jessi! She came into town for the weekend. Then we went to a sip and see for Jenna’s sweet new baby. Sunday night Jake had a guy’s night, so the kids and I went to hang out at Megan’s house so the kiddos could play and we could have some girl talk :). (Jess was staying there). Then-the fun didn’t end! Josie and Jack got to spend the night with Grammy and Pappy :). I had inservice on Monday, but Jessi and got to go to breakfast before she headed back home :). Good, fun filled weekend :).
Josie’s recitation for the week 🙂
Jack’s memory verse-
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast (or in Jack-speak "post”), it is not proud.“
You are just one month shy of being FOUR years old. That is unbelievable. Time with you has completely flown; yet I feel like you’ve always been a part of our family; it is hard to remember what it was like to be just a family of three.
It was a BUSY month….
- We celebrated Lane’s first birthday- you loved all of his “digger” decorations.
We got a new car, and traded in my Jeep. You love the new car, mainly because of the sky light and because, since it is a stick shift, you think I’m driving really fast all the time.
-You went to the “Teddy Bear toss” Vandy game with Shshr and Nana and tossed a stuffed animal into the ring. You also went to two other Vandy games-you really love going.
-We celebrated Christmas. You loved every minute. You were so excited about opening our Advent ornament every night. You loved singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. You were so sweet opening your gifts-you would speed through opening each one, then run over to give a hug to whomever gave it to you. You do not dwell on the gift unwrapping like your big sis. 🙂 You got lots of fun things-a checker set, a bow and arrow, and tent/tunnel, a Nerf gun, a little ride-on car, camo sheets, a harmonica, several trucks. I’m not sure you had a favorite thing.
- We celebrated New Year’s Eve at home as a family. We stayed up until midnight watching movies. You loved it.
Daddy is teaching you how to play Mario with him. You really love it. You really love ALL things screens, so we have to really put limits on your screen time-you would play the iPad 24/7 if we let you. But playing video games is a special thing you get to do with your Daddy sometimes.
We discovered you can count all the way to 90 by tens (when you feel like it). I think you have a ton of knowledge in your head; you just only share it when you are in the mood. I can never get you to share any knowledge on command.
You really like games- you love checkers, and are really learning how to play well. You like Sorry and Chutes and Ladders and Candy Land. You really love to work puzzles, too.
-Other loves: sweet potatoes; your sleeping buddies (Dolphie, Black, White, and your green blanket); Josie; games; the iPad; watching movies; Pappy; playing outside; anything with wheels, especially monster trucks; reading books; oatmeal; muffins; “bwnanas”; donuts; pirates; playing “hunting” or zoo with Josie……you love any pretending game. You and Josie are always in the middle of pretending something.
-You are growing like a weed. You have almost outgrown all of your 2T stuff, and can officially wear all of your 3T clothes. I’ll be interested to see how big you are at your yearly check up!
Little boy, I love you. You light up our lives so much, and I am so blessed to get to call you son. Slow down a little, okay?
I love you,
