So yesterday, I got almost everything crossed off that list. I didn’t get all the clothes unpacked (although I did do some) and I didn’t get to blog about our vacation (obviously). But I did pretty good!
This picture is all the books I got to read on our vacation. I’m not sure what I think about Jodi Picoult. A friend recommended her, so I checked two of her books out of the library…and they were just so-so for me. The other books were really good, especially “Divergent.”
Hopefully, tonight I might actually get to post some vacation pics…but I also have a BUNCH of laminating to cut out, and laundry to fold…so we will see. 🙂
Today’s to do list-not sure I can get it all done, but I’m sure gonna try!
Visiting Aunt Becca’s chickens is as good as going to the petting zoo! 🙂
This is how you fully enjoy a powdered donut 🙂
So yes, I know I have been MIA for quite some time…we have been on our annual 10 day camping trip to my favorite place on earth :). Full vacation posts to come (slowly) this week at some point. No promises about when that might be, because this week I am going to be in full on “getting my classroom ready because school starts next week and I haven’t done even the first thing in my room” mode. 🙂
Helping Mee Maw shuck corn. 🙂 I love my mother in law-she is a lifesaver…she always seems to know just when I could use a little extra help. I guess that’s what you would call mother’s intuition. 🙂
Put up bell peppers in the freezer tonight. I forgot to count how many I did, but I ended up with two gallon baggies chock full of bell peppers cut into halves (because we love stuffed bell peppers), and 4 cups worth of chopped bell peppers, divided into fourth cup baggies to be used in omelets and other recipes. I am determined to use, freeze, or can as much stuff as possible from our garden this year!
Made six meals to put in the freezer today-ready to just thaw and put in the oven. I love it when I get motivated to do that-freezer meals almost count as a no cooking night! 🙂
I absolutely LOVE having a garden. Tonight’s dinner menu:sausage rice, rolls, and all kinds of fresh veggies from our garden:broccoli, cucumbers, sliced tomato, carrots, and fresh corn on the cob. It was delicious.
Yesterday was a busy, but very fun day. We had church in the morning, but also needed to be back at church by 4:30 in the afternoon, so we only had a few hours to kill between church services. So instead of going all the way back home, we took our boat with us to church and headed to the lake (Old Hickory) after church. It was our first time to take our boat out this year, so we just wanted to make sure it was running well. Our friends Lewis and Emily joined us, too. This was Emily’s first time on a boat on a lake, and her first time to swim in a lake, too. I think she had fun! I KNOW Josie had fun playing with her. 🙂
Jack was SO excited to be on the boat, in the water!
Lewis brought cookies to share, and Jack was loving them!
After church last night I had a fun girls night at Jessi’s house. She made AWESOME Italian food, and we had a blast hanging out and playing Telestrations. That is, hands down, the funniest game I have ever played-I laughed until I couldn’t breathe and my sides hurt!
