First official day of summer break was a good one. I did LOTS of laundry (camping creates a ton) and did some unpacking. We played outside and I worked with Jack on potty training. Casey stopped by got lunch, and Shshr stopped by to look at our garden. After naps we went to run a couple of errands before Josie’s gymnastics class. When we got home, Jake was outside, so we let the kiddos ride bikes some more until dark, and then ate a late dinner. Just a simple, sweet summer day.

Memorial Day Trip

This Memorial Day trip was a little out of the norm. One, I had to work on Saturday-yep, that’s right. Saturday was our report card day at school. Friday was our last day with students (woohoo!) but Saturday was a half day for all teachers to pass out report cards. So anyways, what that means is that the kids ended up going on up to the campground with Nana and Shshr on Thursday, and then Jake headed up Friday night after work. I rode up with Ta on Saturday….yeah, that was a whole lot of logistics.ย

Two, I had been sick basically the whole week….another asthma induced funk. Bleh-hopefully I can get my asthma back under control-SOON.ย

Anyways, all the craziness aside, it was a wonderful trip. The weather was absolutely beautiful, wonderful friends and cousins were there to have fun with, and I love spending so much time with my family. Josie and Jack were riding their bikes 90% of the daylight time. Josie has TOTALLY mastered riding her bike without training wheels-she was even riding with one foot! Jack loves riding his bike-and he is really good! We got so many comments about how cool his bike is, how little he is to be riding, etc.ย

We visited the fish hatchery and fed the fish. Jake and Justin went fishing on the river with Daddy and caught a TON. I got a nap on Sunday, and I ALWAYS consider that a success. We celebrated Katie Ann’s birthday and watched “Wreck it Ralph” outside with a projector a friend had. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

All in all, a great trip. And now for the photos….totally all iPhone pics, totally unedited. ๐Ÿ™‚

Translation:“obey your parents, for this is right”
I’m finally able to get Jack to practice his memory verse with me, and it is super cute. This is actually the whole verse that he is working on this month:
“Children, obey your parents in The Lord, for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1

I think he’s got a good start! ๐Ÿ™‚
