Well, I took Jack to the dr this afternoon, and the verdict is that he has an ear infection and possibly strep throat :(. The good news is that those things are totally treatable with antibiotics, so he should be good as new in a couple of days :).
plus, it was very nice to stay at home today and spoil a little boy rotten.
This weekend was a good one. Full of family and friends. On Saturday I got to take pictures of a sweet little 9 month old, and while I was taking pictures, Jack and Josie got to play with their friends Liam and Eve. Then we left there and headed to a birthday party for Josie’s friend Mady. It was a joint birthday party for her and her cousin, Katy-they were both turning four.
The kiddos had a blast, Josie playing with all the girls, and Jack jumping in the little bouncy house they had set up. He, of COURSE, got the obligatory goose egg on the head, because we can’t go anywhere without him getting an injury of some sort….
See it on his forehead?
Josie was in strawberry heaven…
Happy Birthday Mady!!
On Sunday, Josie got to go to the last Vanderbilt girl’s basketball game with Nana and Shshr. It is safe to say she is completely over her fear of inflatables….
They also spoiled her rotten and took her to her favorite restaurant, PF Changs.
I don’t have any pictures of Sunday night, but it was such a good night- we had our sweet friends Dan and Hannah over for dinner and a movie. (We put the kids to bed, then watched a movie). It was such a simple night, but so awesome to hang out with such sweet, good people and enjoy some time together. Jake and I both said we have missed hosting. We used to have people over all the time, but then all of our friends had kids, and schedules just get more complicated when kids enter the picture….Anyways, we are going to have start having people over again more often! 🙂
Looks like I am staying home today with a sick little boy. Jack threw up right as we got to Nana’s. (Why do my kids always wait until 15 minutes before I need to be at work before they get sick? They never get sick the night before, or even first thing in the morning…..) He seems perfectly fine now, and I HOPE it is an isolated incidence…but I wanted to stay home with him anyways, because sick little boys need their Mamas…..Now off to disinfect every square inch of our home while the boy gets to have an iPad playing, tv watching kind of day….
Josie and Jack love to dance when their Daddy is playing guitar….and this video makes my heart melt just a little bit….
(Just as a side note, I am SO excited that I finally get to have “conversations with JACK” posts! He is talking up a storm here lately!)
This is the first thing I heard when Jack woke up this morning:
Jack: “Mama! Help! Mama! Help!”
Me: (running up the stairs) “What’s the matter baby?"
Jack: "Help! Feet cold!!” (says Jack, as he is standing at the top of the cold metal stairs in his barefeet)
Note to self: teach Jack when the use of the word “help” is appropriate….
We have been having our septic tank worked on this week, and there is nothing more exciting when you are four and two years old than having a giant bull dozer in your yard! Seriously, the kiddos are FASCINATED by the machinery and the giant hole in the ground.
I had allergy testing a while back, and today I finally got the results back. The day they did the test, my allergy count (whatever that is) was around 750. The normal range is under 100. So. I am allergic to dust mites, and basically every major tree and grass that grows in TN. They referred me to an allergist. I think it is safe to say I am going to take their recommendation…..
