Just finished (most) of our Christmas shopping……I totally LOVE online shopping. For us, it’s just the way to go. I know a lot of people are not fans….but I have never been a big shopper, and now with two little ones, shopping is HARD sometimes! Especially if I need to just browse or actually concentrate on what I’m doing. πŸ™‚ I will still do some shopping in stores, but my list of things to get in stores is now SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than it was just an hour ago. πŸ™‚Β

Thanksgiving (Day two)

Yesterday we went to Mama Judy’s for Thanksgiving. It was a great day of just being completely lazy and eating yummy food and hanging out with family. I realized after the fact that I didn’t get many pictures….mainly because Jack was being a big grump. I think he was just tired and wound up from being away from home for two days straight. Schedule is an important thing to the Jack man. πŸ™‚

Jake and Andrew playing video games…

Sweet cousins-these two are peas in a pod. πŸ™‚

Watching funny dance videos…..

Cutting up marshmallows for sweet potato casserole…

The grump himself

The yummy feast!Β

I don’t know what Scott was doing, but the kids sure were interested!Β

These two are TROUBLE….. :O

Happy Thanksgiving!Β

I love extended breaks from school-they are the only times my WHOLE house gets cleaned at the same time, top to bottom! πŸ™‚ They are also the only times I get to stay in my pjs the ENTIRE day. πŸ™‚ You know it’s a good day when you change out of your pjs to put onΒ new pjs to go to bed. πŸ™‚

Wedding dress…..

On Wednesday, I did something I have been meaning to do for ages…. I let Josie play dress up in my wedding dress, and I got some pictures. I plan to use these in the (hopefully) far future, at her wedding. πŸ™‚

She was totally in her element…..big white princess dress, crown, sparkles…yep, perfect kind of activity for my girly-girl. πŸ™‚

Thanksgiving (Day one)

Yesterday was Thanksgiving….and I have so much to be thankful for, I could never fit it into one post. When I first started doing daily “thankful” posts, I thought it might be hard to not repeat myself at least once…..but now I have realized I could name something I am thankful for every day, and probably NEVER repeat myself. I am SO abundantly blessed, and amazed that my God has blessed me so very much, more than I couldΒ everΒ deserve….because I could never deserve any of it!

Yesterday was such an awesome day. I love Thanksgiving, because it is a no pressure kind of holiday….just hanging out, being lazy, and eating awesome food. It started out bright and early, of course (my kids don’t sleep past 6:30, like, ever). We just lazed around for awhile, and then dove into making turkey cookies!Β

Josie has helped me make cookies before, but this was Jack’s first time….

He was excited to help!

By the time we got done, EVERYTHING was covered in flour….the kidsΒ andΒ my kitchen included! πŸ™‚

After the cookies cooked and cooled, we decorated them…Josie wanted to do it all by herself, and she pretty much did-I only helped a little-and she did great!Β

Stirring the icing… (notice Jack is now stripped-his clothes were CAKED in flour!)

Decorating…. (I think Jack consumed more icing that he actually put on his cookie)

Finished turkey cookies!

Jack’s cookie (He also snuck a part of his cookie)

Josie’s cookie

After we decorated cookies, we piled in the living room to watch the Macy’s Thankgiving Day Parade! This is something I ALWAYS did as a kid, and now I absolutely love sharing it with my kiddos. Josie loved every.single.minute of it, and was upset when we had to turn it off to head to Nana’s. She said her favorite part was seeing the cowgirls (a dance team) and the cheerleaders. Jack really like it, too…he really liked whenever there was a float with animals, or a big balloon.Β

We did lunch at Nana’s at 1:00. I was so happy that everyone in my family (that side, anyways) got to be there at some point in the day. I’m not sure we were ever there at the same time, but it was so great to be able to see everyone all in one day! Nana, as always, outdid herself and we had enough food to feed a small army….it seriously didn’t even look like we had eaten when everyone was through!

Sweet girl in her turkey dress that she’s now gotten to wear for three years!

I was trying to get a picture of the kids together, but Jack was NOT in a cooperative mood-this is about as good as it got!

Shshr being silly, as usual. πŸ™‚

Sisters…

The most important ladies in my life πŸ™‚

What, you don’t clean guns on Thanksgiving?

A rare picture of me and mom together…. πŸ™‚

Finally getting to eat his turkey cookie!Β

Tradition: at some point in the day, the Black Friday ads come out, and everyone looks and Christmas lists are made, and ideas are swapped, and we exchange names for our Secret Santa…..

Tommy taught Jack to say “woo-hoo!” whenever the cheerleaders came on πŸ™‚

Grammy and Pappy

After we ate the leftovers for dinner, Jackie pulled out catch phrase and she, I, Shshr, and Ta played….I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard in my life! Like, the good, belly-achin, soul cleansing kind of laughing…..it was a BLAST. πŸ™‚

It was a perfect, family filled, love filled, AWESOME food filled kind of day. πŸ™‚

Now off to get ready to go to Mama Judy’s for Thanksgiving, Day 2! πŸ™‚

Thankfulness Day 23

Today I am thankful for several things….picnics outside in November, a whole day just to hang out with my kiddos with no specific plans, not having to get into my car today, making it a whole day without having to take my inhaler (for the first time in a week!), and having an awesome relationship with my mother-in-law. πŸ™‚
