Zoo Day

On Friday Josie, Jack, and I went to the zoo with our sweet friends from church, Julie and her kids, Addie and Gavin. It started out as a rainy day, which was actually perfect for us because it meant it wasn’t very crowded, and it also wasn’t as hot at first! It sprinkled on us just a little-but it was just a good excuse for Josie to get to use her umbrella for a little while.  We made it through about half of the animals, then we stopped and threw our picnic blanket on the ground for a quick picnic lunch-so much easier to eat on the ground with little ones than the big picnic tables. 🙂 After we saw all the animals, we let the kiddos play on the playground for a little bit. Then it started looking like it was going to rain big time again, so we hit the road….just in time for Happy hour at Sonic….so of course we had to go grab some drinks together before we really hit the road!

Addie is just a little younger than Josie, so they always have a big time together-and Friday wasn’t an exception! They loved seeing all the animals together. Josie said her favorite was the “fla-men-gos” (flamingos) and the camels. Jack was SO GOOD all day long-just happy to be outside and hanging out in the stroller or the Moby. I loved getting to hang out with Julie, because she is a very dear friend.
