Red, White, and Blue Strawberries

I love when people post recipe blogs with pictures (in fact, that is where I got this recipe!), so I thought I would try my hand at it.

We are going to our annual fish fry tonight at the Johnson’s, and I always bring a dessert. Normally I just bring cookies or brownies or something else quick and easy, but this year I wanted to try something different. When I ran across this recipe for red, white, and blue strawberries, I knew it would be perfect!

Step 1. Gather your ingredients: white chocolate chips, fresh strawberries, blue sugar sprinkles.

Step 2: Wash strawberries.

Step 3: Pour chocolate chips into a bowl, and microwave for about 2 minutes, stirring in between. The chocolate should just be warm, NOT hot.

Step 4: Take picture of cute assistant. If you do not have a cute assistant, please skip to step 5.

**If you do in fact have a cute assistant, please see side note at the bottom.

Step 5: Stir melted chocolate until smooth, and pour sprinkles into a bowl or cup. I found for this recipe, a small cup seemed to work better.

Step 6: Dry your strawberries (I just did this one at a time, as I was using them.)

Step 7: Dip your strawberry into the chocolate, making sure you leave some red showing at the top.

Step 8: Dip the bottom of your strawberry into the blue sprinkles, leaving some white showing.

Step 9: Lay your strawberry on waxed paper to harden. (It does not take very long!)

Step 10: Stack all your strawberries on a cute platter, and admire the cuteness and your handiwork :).

**Side Note:

If you have a cute assistant, and you do in fact get distracted by that cute assistant, you may need to refer to this step:

Step 3b: Since you did get distracted by your cute assistant and BURNED your chocolate, you will need to pack the baby in the car seat, grab the diaper bag and your keys, and run to the store to get more chocolate. While you are at the store, you will probably also need to go ahead and grab  the milk, bread, assorted drinks, and baby supplies you are running low on, since you have already dragged a baby and paraphernalia all the way into a store. 🙂
