Memorial Day Trip: Sunday and Monday

After our big day on the lake on Saturday, we just had a lazy day on Sunday. We started off the morning having our short little church service with everyone, and then we just hung out the rest of the day. I mean, I literally stayed in the same spot in the grass almost the whole day while Josie played with her cousins. We took our lunches outside to eat, I fed Jack in a camping chair, I braided Katie Ann’s hair, took Katie Ann and Josie to play in the sand, and watched the boys play corn hole. Daddy and Chad jogged before lunch, but I didn’t want to go right then, so Chad went jogging for the second time with me before dinner. Nana cooked-YUM. We ended the night celebrating Katie Ann’s birthday with cake and ice cream. Mrs. Laurie even had some glow in the dark chalk that the kids had a BLAST with.

Josie had been asking to play in the sand since we were in the car on the way to the campground. Needless to say, she was pretty excited!

Monday was our leaving day, but we were determined to make the most of it before it was time to pack up. Josie played at the park with Greyson, and then Pappy took her fishing down at the stream. Josie was WAY more interested in the stringer than actually fishing, but she was pretty excited when Pappy caught a fish for her. She named it “Josie” and sat by the creek, holding onto the stringer like a leash :). She was determined she was going to eat that fish for supper! After fishing, it was time to head back, eat lunch, and get to packing. It is AMAZING how much faster we can pack up now that we have our own camper-I LOVE it!

We made the trip home without any stops-yay! The kids zonked out before we got out of Celina, and slept the whole way home. Who said you can’t travel with kids? All in all, it was a wonderful trip, and we were all sad to see it end, just like usual :).
