Exercise day 2: Getting creative

I had to get creative with my exercise today since it was way too cold and rainy to go for a jog or a walk. So for my workout today, I jogged 10 times up and down our spiral staircase (ouch my calves!). Then I did 50 crunches with Jack sitting on my belly (first time to do crunches since before I was pregnant). I ended with 40 bench presses, using Jack as my weight :). It was a great workout-non traditional, but definitely enough to get my heart racing, and my muscles burning! Plus, it only took about 15 minutes, which is good since I don’t have a lot of time these days…
So verdict on my first official workout in MONTHS: I feel great!!

Today

Just some random things:
-Josie figured out how to open the childproof top on her vitamins this morning. Gotta make sure ALL the meds are on a very high shelf out of her reach!!
-I completed my first solo trip to Walmart with BOTH kiddos today-and it went great!
-After my outing today, I am convinced that there are still very good people in the world. The lady at Taco Bell brought our food to the table so I wouldn’t have to haul both kiddos back up there. A lady that was behind me in Walmart helped me put all my stuff on the check out counter. One of the gentlemen that works at Walmart saw me in the parking lot unloading my stuff, and offered to unload so I could get the kiddos out of the cold.
-After typing the last point, now I am wondering if I just appear to be a totally inept parent when we are in public? Or maybe all those people have had kids before?? Either way, I still appreciated the help! (even if I was doing just fine by myself) 🙂

Exercise

I can start exercising today! Yay! My goal is to do some type of exercising everyday, even if it is just something small like doing a few crunches. I would love to jog everyday, but right now that is not a practical goal with two little ones-plus Jack is too little to ride in the stroller at jogging speed. So I will jog and walk on the days I can, and do another kind of exercise on other days. 🙂 Also, I think I am going to post on here everyday what kind of exercising I did, kind of like an accountability program for myself :).

Post partum appointment

Today I had my 6 week post partum appointment. All was well, so I am free to resume all normal activities-yay!! I am so excited to start jogging again-I am ready to be in good shape again! I have 13 pounds left to lose until I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight-it should be easier now that I can exercise again-I sure hope so, because I am so ready to have my body back!
