Well, since…

we are officially out of school again tomorrow, Jake and I decided that this would be a good weekend to update the bathroom. We had already bought the paint, so last night Jake de-popcorned the ceiling. It has been falling down, piece by piece, so he went ahead and took it all down. It was a BIG  mess to clean up, but totally worth it. So this afternoon, we are going to patch all the holes and places where the drywall is messed up, and then after Josie goes to bed I will Kilz the ceiling and the walls. Then tomorrow, hopefully, I can get the ceiling painted and the trim painted. Maybe even the first coat of the pretty new paint. But, we’ll see :).

We, of course, went out in our SIX INCHES of snow today :). It was fun. Josie wasn’t sure exactly what to think. She didn’t want to walk without holding hands, and one time I slid down a hill (on purpose) and she FREAKED out…she thought I was hurt or something. Mainly, she just wanted to be carried all around the yard, and she wanted to swing. She went down the slide once, and she liked it, but didn’t want to do it anymore. The snow was beautiful, though-I don’t remember getting this much in a LONG time. Not good for snowmen, though-it wouldn’t pack at all. Of course, this did not stop Jake and I from throwing it at each other :).

Wedding Dress

I had a such a self-esteem boost today. Randomly, Jake and I were talking about wedding dresses today, and I thought that I would definitely not be able to still fit in mine. He thought I would definitely be able to, so we went upstairs, and he made me try it on. I was so excited…because it fit! I could zip it up and everything :). Definitely a great feeling!

I don’t think the way you think.
The way you work isn’t the way I work.
For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth
not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do,
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.

I really don’t have anything to talk about, but I really just felt a need to blog, to write. So here goes an absolutely mindless, journaly-type post.

Tonight I took dinner to a sweet family from our community group. I made a recipe of Ta’s that I have never made before, chicken spaghetti. I LOVE it when she makes it, she always brings some to me at school, so I thought this family might like it, plus it is super easy to make. It occurred to me after I started making this (and after Jake pointed it out), that it might not have been the smartest idea ever to make something for somebody else that I myself have never made before. I think all is well, though, because I also kept some out for us to eat, and it tasted just fine :).

Josie is SO not a baby anymore..she is totally a little girl. Tonight she insisted on Jake changing her diaper and putting on her pajamas before bed. She picked out the pajamas herself (sock monkey, in case anyone is wondering) She also helped me pick out her outfit for tomorrow…she is very opinionated about what she wears, sometimes. She stayed with Becca and Greyson again today, and Becca painted her nails again. So of course she had to show us and tell us they were “pretty.” One of her favorite games to play with Jake right now is to pretend (she loves to pretend ANYTHING) there is a bird in the house, and that it has flown into the bird house we have in the kitchen (yes, we have a bird house in the kitchen, it is waiting to be polyurethaned and put outside when it gets warmer). She is very dramatic about it, telling use the bird is sleeping and it needs to get up. Have I mentioned that my  child can carry out full blown conversations now? They are not traditional in the sense that she cannot say full, complete sentences yet, but she DEFINITELY can get her point across. She can also remember what she does during the day, and tell me at night. I love getting to ask her what she did during the day. It’s always funny what she happens to remember. Or what she just randomly decides to talk about. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, MILK is by far her most favorite topic of conversation. Yes, you heard me right, milk.

Wow, this is a really random post. Oh, and just to add a “not me…” I totally do NOT have three loads of laundry piled up on my couch, neatly folded, that I have not felt like putting up for the last 2 days…nope, not me!

Our CRAZY week

Sorry for the no-post week, but this week was CRAZY around our house. Work was crazy for Jake and I both, with lots of meetings and working late, my car broke down and had to be towed from school, I thought that my wallet was stolen and had to cancel my credit card ( long story, but it was found, but my credit card was already canceled….I just am thankful and grateful it was found instead of stolen).

On the up side, the week was not all bad. Nana had her knee replacement surgery on Monday, and got to come home on Wednesday because she was doing so good! Josie even got to visit her twice, while she was in the hospital, and we didn’t think she was going to be able to visit her at all. Josie had her ENT recheck appointment- tubes look great, she doesn’t have to go back until fall. Josie stayed with Mrs. Becca and Greyson for the first time on Wednesday, and she did great! She didn’t cry when I left, she was good all day, and even took a 2 ½ hour nap! Woa-she has never done that for me! She even let Becca paint her finger nails for the first time :). She said they were “pretty.” After getting my car towed, it fixed itself at the garage, so they didn’t charge me anything-so that is always a plus.

We also figured out last night that Josie knows both Jake and my names. She has been saying Jake for awhile, and pointing to Jake,  but I didn’t know she knew that my name was “Brandy” until last night-but she does, and can even say it. She is too smart for her own good sometimes… :).

Today Josie and I are going shopping with “the girls”-mom, Christie, Beth, and Katie Ann-should be lots of fun!

Okay, these are just random photos that I wanted to share-none of them really go together, but I have been wanting to post for the last couple of days-Yesterday I just ran out of time, today baby girl has NOT  been cooperating. She really doesn’t like me to be on the computer when she is awake-she says “up!” and pushes down the screen (put it up is what she means).
